K60 Scout tyre pressures?

Just had a pair of K60 Scouts slapped on my GSA for a bit of 4x4 track riding in the alps and northern Italy later this week. Any advice on what pressures to run them at from those that have used them? I'll be riding on road and off, solo with camping gear. Tyre fitter put them up to 2.4 and 2.6 bar, which is pretty firm!

Appreciate any advice.

When we fit them in Alaska for the Dalton which is as rough as it gets, we use 34 front - 34 rear which is recommended by the guys up there who fit loads of them. Plenty of grip on all types of surface.

Although the guys up there say use the same pressures on the road, I run 36f and 39r on tarmac which seems to give good life and grip. I've had over 10k on a set no problem

the firm reckon 36front/ 44 rear on there website. thats what ive put my gs1150 to at the minute

I used to run them at 34F/34R, that was the best combination I found. I stopped using them because of the price hike, and the PITA they are to fit; otherwise a great tyre.

Just fitted a 140/18 (The one without the centre ridge) on the back of the HP2 for the ride down to Malga for a weeks offroad with Greg & Crew.

(Ive a TKC on the front)

I was going to put 30psi in the rear for the trip down (just me and some light lugage) but it would seem I should be going higher

I've always used the same pressures BMW recommend for standard tyres which seemed to work fine on my 1150GS.

Even a day accidentally running at around 10psi on the front on fast twisties through Idaho where the sign indicated "bends for the next 95 miles" (ask Sgt Bilko how fast whilst making me very nervous didn't prove terminal. Good tyres.

The tyre had partially deflated after bottoming the front suspension on a pothole. I thought that I was just having an "off day"

Thanks for all the advice. Just back from the trip and mighty impressed with the tyres. Once I got used to them I was amazed how good they were on the road given how capable they were off-road. Never struggled for grip and I ride on the road as if I was still on the Anakee 2's. I might be a bit more cautious, especially in the wet, but so far I've had no issues at all.

yea .......i 34 front and rear is great ...i had 4 K60 on the back and 2 on the front and played around with the pressure at the start but soon found out that increasing it does not do any good to the life. And yes the sidewalls are so strong you can run them home on almost no pressure at all ......i once did 5 miles flat to the next point vey slowly( yes you can and i know you should not )

have changed to Karoo3 12oo Miles ago and i can tell you my next tyre will be a K60 again. The Karoo was not very round to begin with and took forever to settle in, and they slip a lot easier when you apply throttle out of bends and are a handful to judge how much grip there is when conditions are changing. The rubber on a K60 is totally predictable and that makes it great
