Noticed a drip of EP oil under the Old Nail today. It's coming from the boot covering the clutch pushrod.

Am I right in assuming that it can only be the input-shaft seal (#2 below)?

If it is, what's the chance of the clutch-plate being contaminated (no slipping - yet)?

It's the rubber boot that's split, usually around the metal plate inside the boot that the clutch arm pushes onto. Simple replacement will do the job.

Better to remove the silencer so you can lower the clutch arm fully and get the rubber boot in place. Don't just slip the cable off the end of the clutch arm and try and force the boot in place it'll only split again in a two weeks time.

And just think yourself lucky you don't own a K100 and you have to remove that models particularly evil silencer to do the job.
