Is it just me or is the noise from Karoo's very off putting?

And... Does it seem to change with surface, road temp etc...

Mind howl even more at around 30 and 70

But last night when I joined the M1 it was so loud it was as though the noise was beinging switched on and off - quite at 65, really howling, screaming in fact, at 70 and quite'ish again at 75

It was making such a howl/scream that I pulled over to give it the once over.... When I rejoined I just canned it up and through the noise and stayed above 80

Who has the same?

I bought a set of 1150GS wheels with new Karoo's off here years ago to use 'offroad' and they howled 'like a banshee' so badly at 60 mph on tarmac the first time i used them that i pulled over and stopped to see what was wrong with the bike.

All i had to do was ride a wee bit faster or slower and they were OK.

These were Karoo's and i think the Karoo T's on my HP2 were never as bad either that or I got used to them!

If you've got boxes on the bike the noise can be a lot worse as it seems to resinate and bounces up at the rider...........With the boxes off the noise didn't seem so bad.

Could be worse with a taller screen aswell!

FP.

It's good to hear people having the same experience, I know it's the tyres, I know the bikes in good shape but when the traffic speed dictates that you ride in the range when it really howls it messes with your mind

Especially when the howl volume and range seems louder and tighter, which I now suspect was due to the road surface and the fact that the start of the M1 is surrounded by concrete

Karoo

yup same here, ive had both the karoo and karoo T and the Karoo is much worse, i think its the tread pattern in the middle which snakes from side to side
