Hi all.
Just trader my 2006 GSA for a 2010 GSA with enduro gearbox. The problem I have is the Karoo Tyres, it maybe all in my head but I'm bit unsure cornering with them. Also a question what are they like in the wet? Just had a quote from BMW to replace them with tourances as I had these on my 2006, the price is £280 fitted which I thought was a bit steep. I think I may need a confidence boost from some of you who ride with karoo t or tkc 80

had karoo's on mine they're not too bad, better than tkc's imho, got k6o's now much better,if your buying the bike new then tell them its a deal breaker,if you do get new tyres you could alway sell the karoos on to get some cash back

Karoo Tyres

Hi there.
Sorry I wasn't really clear. I already have the bike I've done only 200 miles on it so far. Thanks for your info.

in that case you'll need tyres soon, think my rear lasted around 1400mls,wet grip was arse clenching but did not let go-just felt like it would if pushed, dry was good but very viby

Had a set on my 1150 for a little while, £120 for the set and I fitted them myself. Wet grip is ok, but not inspiring, they occasionally step out if I'm being enthusiastic but it's predictable.

Got about 2500 miles on mine and the rear's not long for this world.

The only time I've been able to easily keep up with Forry was on the road, in the wet, when he was on Karoos and I was on Anakees.

You will find that they are fine and you just need to believe that they will grip as well as any other road tyre in the dry and wet. Once you get used to them you wont want to change back. I took my TKC's on a track day at Knockhill and they were fine. It was good to be able to look for the limits in a relatively safe environment but trust me you will need to be trying very hard indeed before they start to lose grip. For me the biggest benefit is found when you start to explore their off road potential. By the way I got 6k out of a rear on a trip to the Sahara and back so they can do decent mileage if you look after them.

Karoo Tyres

Hi all
thanks for the support. Track day on knobbies that sounds interesting. I'll stick with em. I'm off to Scotland in august so I'm sure I'll encounter all weathers. Once again many thanks one and all.
