Regarding backpacks, Macpac is still ok, but the newer one that seems pretty much bombproof is another kiwi brand called Cactus Outdoor.
To which I got myself a nice new jacket I didn't need.![]()
Once I get something in my head, it's as good as bought.Same here, called in at Buffalo Systems head office in Sheffield on my way home from work and tried on their full range. I found the smock type was a little snug around the middle but the “alpine” jacket fitted my shape really well. Ordered placed and will go in their next run in the new year which coincides with the puppy’s last round of jabs so one warm and happy (tosser sized) dog walker come Jan/Feb.

Yet, take me shopping to buy a new coat and I can guarantee I'll come home empty handed.![]()

That's why the For Sale area is best avoided after beer, too easy to spot something you didn't realise you needed and then suddenly can't live without. So, there starts a mission to find one, after researching which model.Once I get something in my head, it's as good as bought.

If it's for walking around town etc rather than a B3 crampon the Devisys heel studs are great, just need to find a way of getting them sent here. Mate in the EU as an intermediary would do itIt’s a disease many of us suffer from.
I nearly stopped off and bought some crampons today after sliding around on damp and icy rocks so that means I’ll be buying some soon![]()

My most recent mountain shirt (10 years ago) was branded SnugPak - I assumed Snugpak had bought Buffalo, but now I see they both still exist. Strange, because the Snugpak version is as far as I can see identical to the Buffalo version.Same here, called in at Buffalo Systems head office in Sheffield on my way home from work and tried on their full range.
The Buffalo Police will be after youEven over a T shirt.
The patent has clearly expired as I've found copies for the first time. Compact and very good and easy to out on without sitting down, I used them for 3 winters in Russia. No idea if as good quality as the originalIf it's for walking around town etc rather than a B3 crampon the Devisys heel studs are great, just need to find a way of getting them sent here. Can't get a link to copy just now, simple search for the brand

I feel unprepared to make an impulsive purchase in a shop now. That's why the For Sale area is best avoided after beer, too easy to spot something you didn't realise you needed and then suddenly can't live without. So, there starts a mission to find one, after researching which model.
And when you've got it and life is calm again, you go to the pub, couple of beers, then, sitting in front of the fire later, you go into the For Sale area, just for a look.
But get persuaded to go into a shopping centre on a rare visit to a city and I'm immediately impatient to get out the place and rarely manage to buy anything. It's the clothes shops and crowds of people and there's never the right size, as for trying on trousers in shops, not a good sport.

How's the Keela jacket? Did it survive it's first year?Got my Hydron today, and walked the dog in it this afternoon.
Pretty much a perfect product, and what I have been after for a while now.
Love the grid pattern liner, the easy to reach pit zips, and the hood is just spot on.
A nice touch that only the moss colour has leather zip pulls.
Obviously, the real verdict comes when it sees some actual conditions .... but I just know it will do fine!
I love it, thanks! How's the Keela jacket? Did it survive it's first year?
Thats good. I think its very good kit, made to cope with wild conditions and work as required, not a High St fashion itemI love it, thanks!
Not worn it during the summer, but started wearing it again now autumn is here.
So versatile, it only ever requires a T-shirt underneath.
Exactly that!Thats good. I think its very good kit, made to cope with wild conditions and work as required, not a High St fashion item
