keep the 12 and buy a 800 or trade ?

my girlfriend spent a day on the back of mine in donegal recently, and had no complaints at all. we both have loads of room and whilst lithe, i am tall and would notice if it was cramped as am used to riding alone. however, we're both spending a week touring in scotland in may, so will be better placed to comment then. until such times as i can, you're wrong ;):augie

2 up the 800GS is complete rubbish. I rarely take a pillion as the missu rides but this weekend we took a 150mile trip to pick another bike up so both went on the 800. It is too cramped and cruising at 100mph gives the pillion real bad helmet buffeting. There is also little space for either rider or pillion to move around to keep comfy.
However one up it is a great little bike, no slower than the bigger bikes and more manageable everywhere especially off road :)

LOL thanks for correcting me I must have imagined it ;) ;)

If i was doing lots of 2 up riding id go for the 1200 as its got a bigger seat etc but since 99.9% is solo the 800 is supurb. on the odd occasions that my wife goes on the back the 800 is quite capable and i certainly wouldnt entertain taking the 1200 off road- not my own bike anyway:augie:D

Ive done a Eurotrip on the 800 and it was great, now with a metal mule screen, its brilliant at soaking up the miles.

personal choice at the end of the day though:nenau:mmmm
