I have a Keis X10 heated waistcoat. It is connected to a cigarette socket that comes
off my battery. All works OK, nice bit of kit.
But was wondering why does it not work when I connect it directly to the aux socket on the (GS) bike.
Does it require a 'special bmw' , type cigarette socket. It only draws 2 amps, so I
would have thought that would have been OK.

Are you using a temp controller on the jacket?
Does your bike have the CanBus electrics?

Its probably drawing too much for the limited 7amp (or is it 5?) canbus controlled aux socket which is why its OK direct off the battery.

I have the same problem. I reckon the problem is the Keis plug. When I add the red Keis adapter, plug the Keis lead into a cigarette/powerlet adapter and put the whole lot into the aux socket it works fine.

Remove the red adapter and plug Keis lead directly into aux socket, no luck...

Dave as you know I have a GSA LC and I power my Keis waistcoat via the aux socket.
I have a din plug with a optimate connection that attaches to the heat controller and it works a treat.
I will see you on the 7th Feb for lunch and if you haven't resolved the problem two heads are better than one !!!

Kevin,
I've ordered the convertor from NN, should do the job. Did you get my PM sent last week ? Like to get it to work from the AUX socket, so I can get Pauline one, then
that will be plugged into the cigarette socket from the battery.
