Servicing it..almost finished tomorrow...suspension a bit saggy though:augie

Complete Goodridge hose kit on order...should be fun fitting it to an ABS bike:eek: ( any tips appreciated:)

fitted a set of goodrich hoses on mine a couple of years ago just drain the fluid from the resoviors in the normal manner change the hoses and bleed normally i did not drain the a.b.s DO NOT TURN THE IGNITION ON UNTIL YOU HAVE FINISHED that way the system does not register a fault it worked for me good luck.
tidy looking moto btw

Thanks for that G.S. John...I'll try your method first :thumb2

I'm always polite to strangers, they may be rich :augie

Fitted Goodridge hoses to the front today...easy to do and bled as normal ( thanks g.s. john :) ). So..all stainless fitted...brakes sorted...still need to straighten the front forks ...then off to Scriminger next week to get some carbs fitted :bounce1

Oh and thanks to Vern for letting me use his bike lift ( ooh me poor back ):thumb2

Brakes etc spot on now.....ProjectVND delivered the bike to Scrimmingers in Sleaford, Lincs., today, for the carb swop (watch this space ):bounce1

Should be ready next week :)...but struggling to find a way to get the bike back to the Wirral as Vern is unable to assist me this time:( Hire a van ( but absolutely shite drive across country ) or anyone passing this way next week:augie

Warm welcome from Steve and Denise....top couple :thumb2( and loadsa beemers in the workshops )

Hitch down there..................should do it in a couple of hours:augie

Or...................nick a bike on the Wirral, ride it down to Sleaford, torch it outside Scrimmagers (to remove your prints) and ride yours home...........sorted:thumb

Well bike ready for collection this morning from Mr Scriminger Esq.,:bounce1 but now 20.00hrs and still no sign of the delivery van :( They could have telephoned if coming this late !! :rob

Oh well, note to self, use different company next time then :augie

Whisky :jager time now, sort it all out tomorrow :)

We're just back from 20 miles the other side of Sleaford and no sign of your heap of shite at the roadside:thumb

You should've come with us and ridden it back, we left at 7.30am this morning:blast

Horrible ride bike from Sleaford to here, isn't it? Did Ange stay upright ?:augie

Re the Scrimminger carb conversion...far to expensive for this mod and I wouldn't personally recommend it simply by what it has cost me ( sold the wife into prostitution for the weekend:augie )..although Scriminger only charged £250 + VAT for the work and is a top bloke/engineer.....but I'll have to wait and ( hopefully ) see tomorrow, as it never got delivered today by the 'proffessional' courier

Interested why you say that about the cost of a carb conversion?

Glad I had it done and can't wait for a healthy blag on her. But I got my figures slightly wrong and it is a very expensive mod...which incidently isn't as effective of the 1150GS.

In simple lingo, it is a bit of a Barry Crocker 'cause of stimo from Crash & Blunder. Cost me a Grubby Hand so now I'm deffo Larey Flint and in Barney Rubble with the Duchess of Fife !! K

Blimey.....................no wonder Thunder was coy when asked about cost of the mod, by a few people:rolleyes:

I figured ...............
£250-300 for the ignition box
£200-300 for the labour
£200-£400 for the carb + work (depending on how much they cost s/hand or more if you bought new ones)
Plus a bit for the ancilliaries:eek:

It may be a worthwile mod, but whether its worth about a grand.... on a £3k bike, only if you're keeping it for a significant number of years or you have an unresolvable surging problem

You could have done a lot to the Landie, with a grand

Coy nope, simply if anyone was serious about the conversion they should contact Steve, this is Kenny's thread so I'll let him explain his thinking now that the whisky has cleared, he's factoring in other things which you haven't mentioned.

Interestingly enough your upper guestimations excluding the bit for ancillary work come to exactly a grand

Ok, he's got the transportation to factor in, which may be irrelevant for some who live nearer or can do it themsleves cheaper

I did ask Steve, but his wife never came back to me with an actual cost and then I sold the Kalahari anyway.....................so never followed it up

I guess £600-£1000 at least

Morning all.....

Scrimingers mod is a cracking mod which I thoroghley recommend if you can afford it, make no mistake about that. I now ( when the fecker is eventually delivered:mad:) have a very unique bike which I didn't buy as an investment !!!
To many BWM owners are looking at their bikes purely as investments and simply don't ( and probably never will ) understand being passionate about bikes ( like the guy who buys a new car and immediately covers the seats for when he re-sells in two years time:rolleyes: etc )!
So, I'll next post when I have had a run out on her ( sadly can't do the EM as planned on her, for veggie reasons :().
So, only if your passionate about your bike will you do this superb mod...but if you are just in for making money on your bike, please move on, nothing to see in here !!:thumb2

Next post already....and I am a very VERY happy bunny !! :D

Scriminger is a genius :)

Got two to play with now....
