key lock

my son turned off of bike to the lock postion & I can't get it off the locked postion suggestions please, on how to fix or by pass!!!
it's an 02 1150Gs

Is it the stearing lock pin thats sticky if So i used toolbox spray on it ( its like WD40 but a lot better)

Have you tried wiggling the bars whilst turning the key to 'unweight' the steering lock?

Had something similar on mine - the key itself was getting worn & caused a notchy action. Try the spare key - it worked for me

doesnt seam to leave a sticky film like wd 40 i had to do my stearing lock pin almost weekly with wd40 but only need one spray of this over the last 3 months

have sprayed it, tried wriggling with weight off & spare key etc...

I have the tank off is there some way I can help release it?

all sorted, striped the stearing & took off the barrel to find there is some thing wrong with the lock it self, once the barrel was out I used a large screw driver to put the stearing lock in the off position & is now stuck there some thing has let go on the inside, & as I don't use the stearing lock, now sweat, I have put a new barrel in as the other was worn... all back together & work'n
