KEYLESS KEY QUERY

2017 GSA , Just noticed when trying to unlock the steering in the garage with the key hanging round my neck on a lanyard a flashing red light in top corner of instrument panel, basically now I have to take key right up to the tank before bike unlocks, normally just having key on my person is sufficient.

I'm guessing perhaps the battery in the key might need changing ??
