Where are you off to?
Not sure, 2 weeks to wherever, dump bike fly home.

2 Weeks at work, fly back and ride home.

Possibly Croatia again fly from Split, or maybe Alps Andorra then through Spain to Malaga, dump bike at BMW Malaga again.

Knowing me Ill book a ferry one way and wing it (y)

Continued good weather to you sir......

It's now raining drizzle and only about 6C here. Not my favourite weather for going over mountain passes.

Have a good one pal. Hope it warms up a bit for you.

Oh boy I love livigno, found by accident on wet winter night.

Chin up, it’s the mountains, the weather will change

I was here 5 years ago and came across a local ale brewery / restaurant so thought I'd spend a night there. It's not there anymore and replaced with a hotel!
Buggers!!!!

Day 7:

Wednesday 31.05.2023

118 miles today.

I thought I’d try something new this year and a lot less miles in a day. So I thought 100 – 200 instead 200 – 400 would be a good idea. However, it has backfired somewhat. Unfortunately, for me, it appears that a lot of places over close between 12 and 2-3 PM. That doesn’t help to check into accommodation or find somewhere open to eat at. Being the end of May doesn’t help either as a lot of places are closed for a winter – summer break.

Anyway, left Livigno in 6C and headed west only to meet a closed road sign after about two miles. A quick u-turn and then I headed north to |Bormio over the Passo Fosgagno. Chatted to the usual friendly customs men at the top of the hill (Livigno is a duty-free enclave [I don’t know why]) and I was on my way. A few more passes (shit) came my way during the day and the last 15 miles, or so, were nearly all tunnels to Iseo and were very hot and diesel smelly.

No rooms available in Iseo (well none that you could park at as they have a no traffic city rule now and I’m not leaving my bike a long, long way from where I’m going to be sleeping. I headed north a few miles and ended up more uphill twisty roads to my b & b. Gorgeous views though as I’ll show you shortly from my phone.

I, eventually, found a restaurant open and had a salad for lunch / dinner.

Me likey weather now................

Ill update the Boom Boom report later.

Super busy with work...............

Day8:

Thursday 01.06.2023

212 miles today.

A lot of autostrada riding today but not too bad until Bologna. In saying that I still did about 10 miles up the hard shoulder in total. Trying to get through Bologna was a nightmare (again!!!!) No hard shoulder and an awful lot of start – stop in 30C heat. Both my bike and me were overheating. Fortunately, I was riding like an Italian (t-shirt, no gloves or jacket so my tan is getting along nicely).

I’ve done a recce on the walk to the roundabout at the bottom of the hill to the circuit and it’s further than I usually walk from Cattolica!

I’ve found a couple of bars that sell weisse and dunkel bier but they closed just as I reached them! Perhaps later.

Photos to follow via phone.
