Day 27

Wednesday 21st June.

179 miles today with the Potes Posse.

Rode the AS-114 early on and it was a lovely road. Later afternoon we stopped for a refreshment at a beach cafe an it was a great location.
Inbetween, and after, we did a lot of mountain pass twisty bend roads (some of them were rather rough surfaces that you don't know about until you ride them) and that's not the kind of roads I like so my right wrist is still suffering a bit.
We stayed dry all day (9 hour out on the bikes) and the pissing rain didn't occur until we were all back in the hotel. Lucky or what?

Thursday 212une.

137 miles today with the Potes Posse.

Some great roads and weather today.
We even rode up a narrow track, in the clouds, to see a bear monument and dodge the cows and their shit!

Friday 23rd June

479 miles today without the Potes Posse.

Left Potes and am now in Poitiers.

Riding in 31C today for a lot of it, in my winter jacket, and I am now knackered!

Aiming for the tunnel tomorrow (380 mile away) and, hopefully, a bit up England then find a bed for the night!

Friday 23rd June

Day 30

Saturday 24th June

616 miles today having left Poitiers at 06:40.

Very hot and sunny all the way.
Arrived at the tunnel and breezed through both passport checks and went straight onto the train and, within 5 minutes, we were moving. Fastest processing yet - brilliant.

However, I never thought about getting through the Dartford tunnel on a Saturday afternoon - bad bad bad idea!

I did 4 miles up the hard shoulder and then I was stuck in the queue.

Leave early tomorrow, I hope, and heading to my daughter's place near Dalkeith to pick up stuff then home!

Sunday 25th June

388 miles today.

Got home early afternoon (I left at 06:20) just before all the heavy rain stared and stay on.

Summary to follow once I've rested and caught up with everything at home.

e.g. My truck wouldn't start this morning as the battery was dead - a trip to Ford tomorrow for a warranty fix (new battery I suspect)
