Alarming title I know but I've had a couple of days to reflect on what happened to me on Wednesday and it still seems appropriate.
I was going towards Worcester on the A443 by Witley Court at about 07:45. I had just overtaken a Discovery who was doing about 45 and had a clear road ahead of me. A flat bed transit type truck came over the brow of the hill ahead and immediately swapped lanes to come at me head on. This was not an inadvertant drift across the white line, he veered completely onto my side of the road. I pulled on all the brakes I could and at the last moment it veered back across the road. I stopped because my hands were shaking so much and after a few deep breaths turned round to try and find it but once I'd reached Great Witley it could have gone several ways so that was that.
This was the most terrifying incident I have seen in 30 years on the roads.
What still troubles me is that because this was so deliberate I have no doubt he will do it again, and has he left someone else dead somewhere with the rest of the world assuming they lost control of their bike?
In case you are wondering I was not flying along, I was just going to work and had completed my overtake before this was truck was within 300 yds of me. I did not enjoy the ride home and I'm not sure how I feel about using that stretch of road again, even though it has been my daily commute for years.
Keep safe fellow riders and I hope you never ever have a similar experience.

Bastard gypos ! Shoot the feckin' lot of 'em !!:mad::rob

Report it to the Police.

Even if you didn't get the number it would be worth sticking on record. I imagine you can remember a few identifying things about it - apart from the psychopathic driver, that is.

Be there next Wednesday morning with a house brick for his windscreen and a pick handle for his head when you pull him out of the ditch.

The police won't do anything,so why bother with them!

Go kill:thumb2

Don't kill him like Vern suggests. We're not living in a Mad Max kind of world yet as much as some wish we were :D

Ta for the heads up.
:beerjug:

I suggest if you should see him again then turn around and follow him from a safe disatance. See where he ends up. That's got to be worth a morning off work I would have thought.

There are some nutters about thats for sure. Had an incident out there last year when I overtook a car and he just wouldn't let me in.

Report to the Police as MMC suggests so it is on record.

Absolutely definately report it. My wife uses the same road (joining at Holt) to travel to Worcester at 7.30 every morning.

Thanks

Thanks for all your comments and I really do hope it never happens to you.
Whilst we don't yet live in a Mad Max society I'm not sure what society this bstrd lives in and so the Vern / Toad / Mad Moose option might be the only one he would understand.
I am still thinking what of value I could give the police as all I could focus on was whatever sliver of road might save me.
Keep safe friends.

Thank you for the info!! my goodness, bloody transit drivers.
I have a lot of biker pals out there that travel around this area so will be warning them all of this nutter......... :roll

That's a very scary incident

I had someone try to merge into my space on the A38 on Sunday where it as you come off the roundabout over the M42. I was on the HD sand was only doing 20 mph so there's no way he wouldn't have seen / heard me :eek

Bar stewards the lot of 'em :eh:forry

You can describe the vehicle and where it was at what time and which direction it was heading.
You may remember more details like the vehicle's colour, if there was any signwriting on it, if there was any equipment on it that might suggest a certain trade etc.
It may travel that route often, so might get spotted by the police.

You might prevent another biker being found dead after seemingly losing control of his machine when in actual fact he was forced off the road by this nutcase.

Can you be any more specific about the vehicle?

I've lived just outside Great Witley for about 10 years and I'm pleased to report I've never come across this maniac!

Can you be any more specific about the description of the vehicle? Colour? Make? And I'll keep my eyes open. I know a copper who lives at Abberley and travels this road to get to work every day. I'm sure he'd like to know about it!

Hi Andy B, sorry for not getting back to you on the thread about the van near great whitley as I have been away on the worldofbmw south africa tour! All I can say is that it was a white flat bed transit. It was so terrifying and I was convinced he was trying to run me off the road that I was looking at how and where I would depart the road and so did not get any more details of it. The trouble is you don't know what drugged up effing nutters are out there these days.

It is worth reporting this

I got shot at (air rifle) by lads in a car and although the police didn't have much to go on they had other reports and said they would eventually catch up the who was doing it.

Hopefully they will before someone gets killed, well done for evading!

Catherine.
