What kind of person spends a small fortune on a bike only to try and find a cheapo way of listening to voice instructions from his sat nav.....huh..

That would be me....

£10.99 bluetooth receiver, normal headphones but changed the little silicon bits to noise cancelling type and Bob's your uncle!

Did my research and made sure the bluetooth receiver had all the required profiles, A2DP, AVRCP, HFP/HSP.

Not bothered about taking or making phone calls but can listen to music and the nice lady in the sat nav is clear as a bell.

Thinks oi should get a prize for being a very frugal type person at a cheapskate convention!

Inspired by this, I bought something similar.

I see the benefit as being able to use my choice of noise isolating earphones, with all the benefits for my hearing.

Been messing about with under helmet earphones for a few years.

Took a few attempts to get something that fits comfortably under a lid, so my current headphones are.

Sony MH750 (free with my Phone).
VSonic GR6
JVC Jellies. Super cheap and small, with easily trimmed sleeves.


All fit comfortably under my lid and using standard silicone tips allows me to be able to listen to podcasts at about half volume on my phone up to about 85mph, but you can still make out stuff deom the outside world.

Better having a balaclava or buff to prevent them being dislodged when taking helmet on and off.

Custom IEM's are probably the best choice, but I am a tightwad

I'm not too fussed about phone calls when on the move. Just want to listen to podcasts.

The Sony doodad seems to work fine. Not tried any phone calls yet. But not really interested in that.

Inexpensive, easily transferable and cuts down wind noise.
