Klim Badlands vs Rukka Rivala

I'm considering a pro-shell suit, up to now Rukka wasn't an option due to the serious lack of vents for warmer weather, however the new Rivala appears to address this.

Has anyone tried one yet?
How do the vents stack up against the Klim Badlands?
Is it a softer feeling suit compared to Rukka of old?

On a tarty note, I also quite like the new black/brown Badlands rather than just black on black on black...or light grey

Bought Badlands over Xmas and very impressed with it. Loads of venting but obviously not tried it yet. Bit stiff but reviews say it softens with use.

Saw the brown option was available last week and though yuck, until I clicked the link for a picture and really liked it.

Looking at the fit, it looks too short for my liking, more like a sportsbike type fit.

Tried on the Klim, so will find somewhere with the Rukka in stock and compare but might also look at the Navigatorr.

i have the navigatorr and really impressed with it. Vents work well and 6 year warranty.

I have the navigator/energator which is probably a better comparison with the Badlands. I am also impressed with the rukka. (has a bit more venting than some of the other rukka's

Anyone got the Rukka Navigatorr? What's it like?

I bought the Navigatorr in September, have worn it all through the winter, blood biking in all weathers, really impressed, been dry and warm through out the winter. Haven't needed any more kit than a Helly Hanson Marino wool top and no long johns required, with liner very warm. Haven't used it with vents open yet, but have now taken the liners out. I do ride a RT though, so good weather protection.

General concensus seems to be that the Navigatorr is a pretty good piece of kit, I'll have a look round the web for a hot weather comparison, but will try the Rukka on before I hand over my hard-earned.

Apparently it's a touring equivalent of the Badlands .

Saw it at the NEC, and Crescent in Verwood have a couple, venting's better on the Badlands, but I didn't like the Gore-Leather on the shoulders.

southernpete, how have you found the Navigator through the southern hemisphere summer? Vents work OK?

Anybody else experienced the Navigator in warm weather?

Jacket vents alright into the low/mid 20's and is comfortable to wear. However since I have a mesh Jacket I tend to wear that if I know the day is going to be in the mid 20's or higher and not too colder start. I find the pants don't vent quite as well so often I will wear the air pants with the energator/navigator Jacket in that low 20's range. I used to have a armaxis but sold it as I found it a bit big. It definitely did not vent as well as the energator. I find the energator works well for me as our days and the area I ride in can often range between 4c and 25c. Especially during the Autumn and Spring. Basically we can get 4 seasons in one day and often do.

I have had a badlands pro suit for probably 5 years, been very pleased with it. The only criticism is it is wearing around the collar area, there must be some chaffing with Velcro and the jacket is coming off worse. But it's great all year round, perhaps not as warm as the Rukka, but layering works better than just putting on a single garment. Very likely to go with the same again.
