I've had a Garmin 3+ for about fours years. Yesterday a couple of clear and black horizontal lines appeared across the screen. Today more and more lines appeared and now it's useless. Could this be something to do with the lead or is it more likely to be an internal problem?

Screen

It sounds like my Computer screen, knackered.

Speak to Garmin, very helpful, you might find they repair it for a small fee , worth a try.

Gary.

Garmin quoted £104 as a flat rate to repair my unit, that is what they charge whatever the fault is with that particular unit, which doesn't sound bad. However I had a look in 'GPS Warehouse, near to where I work at Heathrow, and got a brand new Garmin 5 for £260, which I thought was a bargain, as I paid near on £500 for the 3+ five years ago.

Repair

You will find that you may end up with a new unit from Garmin for the £104.00.

They are very good, going off my own experience and many more on this forum.

Gary.

Sorry, yep, GPS V.

I bought the GPS V, but will probably get the 3+ repaired, as I said it seems like a good deal, even better if it's a new one!
