:confused: got two small pipes coming out the tank as pictured this is the adv tank didn't have them on my standard tank anyone know what they are for :nenau cheers gord

They'll be to link both lobes of the tank so you don't end up with a load of fuel which is inaccessable to the fuel pump.
 
Yes and yes.

You'll need a QD at one end of the line as it'll be a bitch fitting the tank without it.
 
thanks sock while we are on the subject i just noticed there is no drain hole in the filler neck as with the standard one :confused: does this mean the water will go straight into the tank :eek:

Looks like fresh paint who sprayed it?I do like that white,quite fancy doing mine in white to give it that SE look,mmmm.:thumb2

yes just got the tank back from the paint shop powa paints of strathaven the guy done my first tank which was the standard one pictured does an excellent job makes the graphics himself and lacquers them on ,,,,,,the standard tank is now spare if you are interested :augie

if you are going to use qd, try only the brass ones, because plastics break down after miles and petrol leaks over the exhaust pipes, not so good!

BeemerBoneyard in the US do a set for the ADV. I got a set when travelling last year but they will post to the UK. I think they were about 70 quid for the 6 required. Much better than the plastic shite that split open whilst in the car park at work. By the time I got the tank off and turned it upside down I was covered. The office smelt of fuel on my kit for weeks:toungincheek
