Kriega tank bag

My Kreiga Tank arrived this morning :JB

One question - how did you attach the front of the adapter? Around the headstock or some other way? Any one got any piccies?

Hey Sam

Took some pictures this morning, hope it helps. Have good trip to Ireland. All the best.

I took a rather simpler approach in the end. I reversed the bag, attached the loop ends to the frame just below the seat (as in one of the earlier pics in this thread) then stuck the velcro pads to the inside of the front plastics on the left and the right and stuck the velcro straps to those. Not a great explanation so I will try to take some pics later. I might change it in the future, but I needed to get it on tonight as I am off to Ireland tomorrow :thumb

US-5 + Thank bag ordered yesterday morning arrived today :augie
In the beginning I 've pulled my hair trying to figure how I could set it up nicely...

The tankbag converter is not exactly "at first" a plug and play thing, one has to decide which way would be the best, and things might change depending on you're mood :D
Yet, I have decided to place it as SamD and an another bloke did ;-)
For me (today) it just does it. Took some pictures but the US-5 was empty ;)

HTH
Cheers
:)

Here is how I installed my US5 on a temporary basis. If all goes well I will just buy longer nylon strap so that the bag can be filled at capacity. Now it is with the original straps.

Thanks to "sv969"

I duplicated the previous posters set-up using large "key ring" type metal loops instead of the standard buckles - worked a treat. I also used the end with the larger cut-out uppermost and tied the two loop ends to the bars running back behind the headstock. All works great!! I'm using a US5 as a permanent mini tank bag, and have a us20 on a touratech rack instead of a rucksack.. Love the kreiga stuff..

Warning

I bought a Kriega Tank Converter intending to use a US-10 rackpack on both the tank and the rack I have purchased .

Unfortunately the converter is too big to fit on the false tank top despite my best efforts .....which is a pity since the ability to use the US-10 on the tank would have been very useful on occasions since I do not want the bulk of a tank bag.

Any ideas ?

Mine fits almost perfectly - the only strange thing is that it is on "backwards" - the is the bottom is at the top if that makes sense:D

Hmmmmmmmmmm.....that is an interesting solution.

Could you post some pics please ?

With pleasure - sorry the images are not great - didn't have any and just went out and took a quick couple - let me know if there is any other info you need

Thanks for that.....if you get a chance I would like to see how you have arranged the fixings under the seat.

Also do your inner thigghs catch on the buckles at the bottom of the tank (false)?

OK hopefully this is what you need - I don't do anything under the seat - in my case the lower straps run down the side of the front of the seat and is "Tied off" on the frame. I use a sheepskin and the buckles sort of disappear in that and aren't really a problem with my thighs even when standing.

May I ask where you sourced the large key rings as these seem to be the neatest solution ?

Further to this, i have a couple US-10's that I strap on to my AS crash bars when i go touring. Normally fill one with clean socks, boxers and shirts and the other with the not so clean ones. Doing this, it leaves space in the sports bag on the back for the other half’s HAIR DRYER!

Simple as anything.. just went to a couple of the local key cutting shops and bought a selection... Easy! :thumb2

Not so far! Although I did buy half a dozen as they were only about 50p each... my guess is they might in time.

Did you thread the velcro coated straps through the anchor points beneath the seat ? If so, how did you manage it as I tried last night without success.
