Very nice Giles, whats the little R screen like for clean air / buffeting !

Dave, I've not had the chance to do any miles yet! First impressions are that for bumming about back roads and 'playing' its fine, but that any distance work (hols, motorway, etc) you might need something a tad bigger. So fine for a Sunday morning blat, but probably not for yer two weeks to Corsica and back !

(Andres .... where are you with yer screen .. ??)

For such a tall chap (Giles that is), that screen looks like it'll be reasonably useless, unless @ the touch of a button it slides up another 8 inches........

That's it on its highest setting ... !

Left down my head's in clean wind blast and body out of most of it, no probs 90% of the time.

Raised I get some buffeting. If I lower my head 2" I'm in still air so I reckon on that basis a taller screen would do the trick for M- way blats.

TBH I have no problem with that and on balance prefer the look of the small screen (so vain!). I'll leave it for now and try it on my next big trip and see..........

I thought the mighty tomos was the steed of choice for big distance work.

Liked the touring screen and puig blade , worked well on long runs , I'm 6 foot tall

Oooooo!! Text from the missus ... A large parcel with 'Wings' written on it has arrived ... :)

Well Rosie whispered to me the other day (Larry was at work;)), if 'he' wants to change his bike again she should have a say which accessories it should have or not.

She must have slipped this photo in my jeans pocket as they lay beside the pallet :D

That looks nice and Light Tim lol

The horn on the 1190 is so bad, I tried my luck with an off the shelf job from Halfords yesterday. It was a 'Ring' (manufacturer) horn for about £12.00.

It fits ... perfectly! So that's good! What's not so good is that the canbus system clearly doesn't like it :blast

The first time you use it having fired the bike up it (morse code ..) dot dot dot's it's beep. One press of the horn gives a metronomic 'beep beep beep'. From then on, every press of the horn gives you one beep and one beep only - about a second long. It doesn't matter how long you press the horn button for, you'll only get one beep. You can press the horn button several times and get several beeps, but ya can't get Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep.

Stop the engine, start it again and the first press gives you beep beep beep again. (subsequent presses back to the one beep)

Do you want me to go over that again ..... :nenau

Giles, if your happy with the Halfords horn, than just wire in a relay using the existing wires, plus 2 additional wires, easy peasy for a fella of your ability, and that will solve the canbus kicking in .

Will the canbus cope with powering a relay instead of the original horn?
Does it trip on only high current or a specified current range?

:D

Hang on hang on ....

I can cope with changing Oil and brake pads, but I know feck all about electrics ....

You need to 'Janet and John' me through wiring in a relay 'and additional two wires ... '

Your not using the canbus to power the horn, you use the existing positive wire from the horn to trigger the relay, the live in comes from the battery.

Dave ... tell me what I need to buy and how to fit it ... (Please..) :D

12v switched relay, all are numbered as per the vid, some wire, inline fuse from battery, couple spade connectors, all available from Halfords or any car accessory motor factors, any numpty can do it.
