Ahem....May I recommend a grammar lesson or two ????

Quite afew racers and "ordinary" owners of KTM 450 on Visordowns Supermoto forum . Might be worth joining and asking on there. Some helpful and knowledgable people on there. :)

Thanks for the advice Taipan.
Sorry about the bad grammer tarka,
Im used to speaking Irish as I'm from Ireland
my command of the queens english wouldnt
be up to your standard as a "subjects/pesant" or which
ever category you fall under.

hi moo,

i,ve got a 450exc. feels very light and powerfull after three years on a drz400. but needs lots of looking after and front end can get very slappy on fast going:eek: i find it knackering to race ( motocross/enduro's) but out on the trail its a lovely bike with loads of grunt and great suspension. don't discount a 250 or 400 exc or even a 525 if your feeling brave! ;)

:hapybnce:

Well, you did give an open invite to opinion... :D

That`s got to be worth a  or two! ;)

love my 450 . As sniper says on an mx track it's quite a handful , the 250 is the nicer one for trail riding and the 400 is that bit of a softer hit on power. Don't forget its more of a competition bike than DRZs etc... so get the toolbox out regular

I had a new 525 while I lived abroad, ragged the granny out of it at least once a week for 2 years, drowned it twice, threw it down countless mountains , rarely serviced it, bought it back to the UK, put supermoto wheels on it and abused it some more, and the only thing I ever had to buy for it were spare levers.

I love em, and highly reccomend them.

I've got a 5 year old LC4 400 supercomp that I'm using as a stop gap, and that runs like a dream and the only sign of use on it is where some paint has rubbed off the frame. So much for unreliable race bikes. They really are very good. I think is because theyre so well overengineered that they withstand all the abuse given.

Now if I could only find a reasonably priced 6 month to year old 525 or 450...............

:D

The 525 is an exellent bike for off-road. The 450 is good too.

some of the huskies like the 510 is a good choice too.

Why offroad? high maintanance , can be costly .

Try a bit of Supermoto, Half track half dirt , the machines are easier to keep the only difference is a wear on tyres but then unless you are like this chap below not really. Its quite new over here but the French have had it 20 years and its more popular than Motox ,a track day can be £40!
Believe me Backing into corners with the wheel spinning up is most frightening but most adrenaline feeling you will have.
Or you can just keep it to track as like at Lydd they will shut off the dirt section. The second one is mine its a duke but has all the bits on it Factory cam Akrapovics , Airbox mod blah blah blah and i tend to stick to tarmac. Done brands a few times and have beaten many a sportsbike as in the corners they cant compete.
