You can ignore the choke ( as most people do) on a K series and just open the throttle and it starts the same no matter how cold it is.

The coolant temperature switch on the coolant elbow sorts it out. .

Try activating just the choke electrical switch on a K series bike while the engine is running. If your statement is correct the idle should increase .......... Well

Its not a choke mate its fast idle Sorry mate but everyone seems to love to correct everyone, I always call it a choke but know it isnt

The US market 11RS originally had the bellypan/lower fairing removed due to some folk melting them by leaving the idle on for "warming up". They thought it a "fire hazard. At least that's how I remember it now the aluminium is kicking in
