Hôtel François 1er Rochelle Coeur de Ville
We enjoyed our two nights here. It is in the old town between Place du Verdon and the old port area.
About a dozen parking spaces behind a secure gate. Reserving in advance is essential as it was full both nights. £15 a space but we had 3 bikes in the one so cheap enough. Read the email carefully for navigation as you have to ride along a restricted street that google maps will not plot unless you select bicycle.
The hotel has a bar and cafe and a reasonable breakfast. The local craft beer from the Isle de Ré is nice in blonde, blanche and ambré forms. We assembled in the bar for a couple before finding dinner on one of the gazillion restaurants within a short walk. Every taste catered for fro crepe to Pakistani food. We stuck to pretty simple brasserie stuff with a local version of cottage pie made with duck being a winner.

I have highlighted two very key tips.
