Lacing GS wheels

I'm thinking of having my GS12 wheel rims and hubs powder coated.
I think I'll be able to dismantle the wheels, ie remove the spokes and bearings etc.
Would building them back up be a specialist job?
If I took photos before i start do you think build up is possible in a home workshop and what's involved?

If not, anyone knows of somewhere that sort of work, and how much does it cost?

Try the Devon Rim company. They will put them back together using stainless steel spokes and do a first class job. They powder coated mine too.

Both seem to come recommended, but neither are near you. The 1200 comes with stainless spokes, no?

They refuse to do GS wheels

Only Devon Rim Co or Candy Wheels in Kent will do it

DON"T DO IT Easy to take apart,But no one really know how to lace and true the gs wheels. Don't ask me how i know

Talon engineering, google 'em, they are right down south somewhere, quoted me about £80 per wheel - strip,coat,rebuild. That was 1year ago, never bothered to go ahead, but i thought that was a bloody good price.

If not, then i don't suggest you have your first try on a GS wheel.

Been doing some digging around t'interweb and making a few phone calls.

Devon Rim Company and Hagon seem to be the only people that will touch a GS wheel. The nipples being in the hub as opposed to the rim seems to really bother most wheel builders i spoke to!

Will have a wheels off scrub up and ascertain whether the job is really necessary before taking the plunge.

Here's another possiblilty. These guys were advertising in yesterday's Red Marley Classic Hillclimb programme. Judging by the STD code I imagine they are somewhere around Tenbury Wells or Bromyard in Herefordshire.
