About to have cat cut out of my headers and need to get them off, thought I'd leave lamba sensors in place and simply unplug them but I can't work out how it clips together and rather than adopt my usual pull hard - break plastic style of mechanics thought i might try asking first :)

So, can anyone tell me how to get connector under cylinder apart and out of the things it clipped to please?

removing lamber sensors

Don't bother unplugging. You can just undo them, the wires will coil up as you take them out so count the number of turns it takes to unscrew them. When you come to replace them, just turn them the number of turns it took to take them out and when you screw them back in the wires will be uncoiled. Hope this makes sense. I did it when I replaced the headers for Remus ones.

The connector is fastened to the secondary ignition coil cover. The connector has a plug at the opposite end of the cover to the sensor. This plug is removed by lifting a small platic tongue that holds the plug in place. The connector is attached to the ignition coil cover by means of a plastic clip; a small screwdriver blade is inserted to disconnect this clip. If you look close enough you will work it out. It's difficult to describe how to do it in words.

thanks, i managed to work it out after finding a set of akrapovic instructions, easy once you know where to put the screwdriver to release the clip :)

Why? In real world riding makes absolutley jack sh** difference. What are you going to do if the bike ends up performing worse than before - it does happen.

Cos i like chopping bits out of exhausts? if it is worse which i doubt i can always stick a stock system back in anyway and doing it this way leaves me the cash to buy an Akrapovic can
