Hi all

I need to buy a new oxygen sensor and it seems there’s a lot out there advertised used. can I use an oxygen sensor for any R 1150? Or R1100?, regardless of age and model?

Cheers, Brian

1 Why do you "Need" to buy a replacement one?

2 why would you buy a used one, where you have no knowledge of its condition?

NGK Part LINKY

Plus it doesn't "really" need one If its faulty and causing running issues

Unplug it up to the right of the coil till you get one The ECU will default to a preset map in the meantime

Old muffler was rotten, so that was replaced by a new one (dominator), that came with its own connecting pipe, meaning the cat also had to go along with the rust welded sensor. Bike after that has been running rough. Going to give the whole exhaust a good look at this weekend, find any leakage + get a John Gemi chip and sensor to cover all bases. Thanks for the link, its a big help! Didnt know they could be bought new!!

Did you have the tank lifted ??

Do you know about making sure that the Throttle cables are correctly seated in their holders / adjusters and that the cable quadrants are fully touching the throttle stops ??

If one of them is not correctly seated it will make the bike run like a bag of poop!!

Thanks I remember this happening with my GS’s - I’ll check it out when the plastic comes off

Also try to fix the first thing that's changed before any chip etc changes...👍 Otherwise you might end up chasing your arse...

Order of service
Check throttle cables haven’t jumped out
Insert new lambda
Insert John gemi chip

All with a little motorway / highway action in between each step
