Question to help out a K12RS owner. He has fitted a used Lambda sensor to his bike but it is the wrong one.

The one I need is the same as the 1150GS up to December 2002, and the one I have is as fitted to the 1150GS from January 2003 production onward.

Is there going to be any significant difference between early and late sensors? Do I need to spend the required £120 on a new one of the correct vintage?
Any wisdom out there on Lambdas?

Technically both will work. Both narrow band sensors.

You may find that they have different threads and/or connectors, so best off with the correct one.

£120!

My mate ran his R1200 cruiser on a lambda sensor he bought from my old work.
It was a four wire intended for a rover and although he had to splice on his old plug it cost £20 new. Generic lambdas also from GSF and EURO car parts.

if it,s a 1volt lambda then you will be ok (you can get universal ones) fom car factors for £30
The two white wires are heater wires if that helps
