Laminar Lip or Aero-Trim ??

I think my first question would be directed at the vendor - ie whats your returns policy as I think you will find that the combined wisdom here would be that you pretty much have to try it and see what works FOR YOU as results across individuals vary massively - whats good for one is not so for another.

If I were buying these i suspect I would go for the laminar lip as its larger and at face value looks like it might be more effective!

Just my 0.02p

I Bought a Laminer Lip for my T Max and its great ,Cool people to Deal with and its made a difference on the T Max ,so should on a GS, you will need to try it in a few positions first:thumb2

I've always thought the laminar lip looks a bit naff, but that aero trim doesn't look bad. I'd be interested to know if any GSA owners have tried the aero trim and what they make of it. Does it just stick on or do you have to drill the screen?

hi all, has anyone used either or both and what are your opinions and recommendations?

i have a GSA......which one gives better protection from buffeting?

Did you ever decide which to go for, and if so what are your results? I have the TT screen extender, and whilst it makes things much better ideally I would like to find something even better.

I'll vote ...

... for Aero-Trim; I had it on my 1100 for 5 years and now the 1150GSA for 5 years and would recommend it. It's more a matter of taste and the black outline does take some getting used to, but in my opinion it does make a useful difference.

Correction ...

... I was referring to this which I prefer to the rigid laminar-lip type products.

yep, got the aero trim. just the inch or two makes a huge difference

I like the laminar lip. Considering that it makes a very small addition to my massive 1200GSA wind screen, it makes a considerable difference.

The LL pushes air over your helmet, and reduces buffeting considerably. I'm 6'5", buffeting generally is a big problem for me.

Note - If I go 120km/h and above it's still a noisy ride, and I use ear plugs for anything but short trips. Around 80-100 it's pretty smooth however.

The LL is not a screen extender, nor a spoiler that sits on top. It's job is to direct air flow. I have seen some people using these as "screen extenders", but there are better alternatives if that is what you are after. Properly installed, it only increases the screen with 2-3 inches or so. Having something flimsy sitting on top of a GS wind screen is not my preference, and I don't like screen spoilers for this reason. The LL is pretty sturdy.

Mounting was simple using the self adhesive pads. When I have some spare time I plan to get mine permanently attached. I intend to just drill through the screen, the Dual Locks and the LL, and secure it with nylon screws/nuts.

My vote for the Aerotrim as well.
I'm 6'4 and immediately noticed the fact that the new bike did not have one on. Fitted a spare and all buffeting gone. A pleasure now! :thumb
