I received my entry pack today.
You should be able to get an electronic version of the route via this week's MCC e-newsletter, so you can re-format it (Verdana in 16 font is my favourite), and amend with your scheduled time. Some also highlight re-starts etc.
Feeling excited about the trial, can't believe it's only a couple of weeks away![]()
Is it just me?
Looking at the road book makes my head hurt!

. Hopefully will get it sorted ASAP.Took in a few lanes in the dark on the way home from work tonight to see what it's like in the dark and how the headlight does. Gotta say, on full beam, it's actually pretty good. Can't quite look as far ahead as I normally would but then I don't plan on going as fast as I normally would!

Just spent a few minutes watching this thinking it was from this year's ExeterNot the Land's End, but Tipley, one of the MCC Exeter Trial 'hills'
I watched the first 10-15 mins and it gives a good preview to newbies of the 'stop and restart' test for bikes, what to do and how to do it etc
Might be worth a watch for sme tips![]()

IMHO Tipley is one of the hardest sections in all of the MCC trials if not the hardest them all and it requires a very determined approach. Fortunately this year class C bikes didn't have to do the re-start.
The approaches in the film to the re-start give a good illustration of the importance of wheel positioning, especially the back wheel, simply because that's the one that has to do all the work, including gripping, to proceed, so you need to give it the next chance possible.
I thought it might be useful for the new entrants, as an insight to this quirk of LDT & Classic Trials, & something that isn't used in Observed Trials

I'm not nervous at all when I don't think about it.
This is an important point. What happens when you ride a section and don't think about it? Do you just hand over control to your subconscious? A friend is doing some work in this very area.
