Land's End Trial 2013

What's everyone else doing for accommodation on the Sat night? The Premier Inn at the finish is full :(

Enjoy

Widemouth bay at dawn is beautiful
Blue hills 2 is an awesome finish
You will need all the coffee and tea and cakes to keep going overnight

Like the sound of that - have any recommendations?

Google is your friend - you will ride through Perranporth just before Blue Hills. I've never stayed there before but it always looks nice.

Post-trial beer is always good....

Not the Land's End, but Tipley, one of the MCC Exeter Trial 'hills'

I watched the first 10-15 mins and it gives a good preview to newbies of the 'stop and restart' test for bikes, what to do and how to do it etc

Might be worth a watch for sme tips :thumb

Thanks for that Johnny. I got a good tip from that YouTube vid, "Don't enter on a 230kg R100gs! Oh bugger I already have.
Seriously though, you can see from those clips that your wheel placement is key if you are going to stand a chance cleaning the stage.

It is & the crucial difference in classic & LDT trials is that you ride the stages 'blind' without inspection which is totally different to the observed trials that I ride

Cleaning the stage - I'll be happy if I just don't fall off too much. :D

Hmm, sounds a bit ambitious to me, are you sure you're not taking this too seriously? ;)

I just want to get around it and be able to ride my bike home afterwards. (Implying that I haven't shagged it up completely)

You should take it seriously - if you take enjoying yourself seriously :thumb

These events aren't easy, but we're not talking extreme sports. It's a nice and challenging ride round. All those hours on your motorcycle....:bounce1

Ian,

I am taking it as seriously as I can. New tyres, special bike fettle, new jacket, new visor, road book reader made, sturdy underpants purchased.

I've just prepared myself for failure, should it all go a bit pear shaped.

As I've had 1 day's training with Skygod I should breeze through it. :clap

Not wishing to tempt fate... But next week actually looks quite dry and Friday night might well stay above freezing!

It's a sad day when I'm excited about the temp being as high as 3/4 degrees...

Just reminded me I have some preparation to do this weekend...

Ahh but did he keep you awake all the previous night?:augie

I really hope the weather isn't too atrocious. Those wet rocks look a bit slippy. Mav and I practiced a few hill restarts last weekend. Don't know what all of the fuss is about.....
