Land's End

(BTW Daryl, your Quest is giving 'as the bird flies' distances and times... I checked with my G12 this morning. I actually did 150m via the Fosse)

Seconded. The Quests' generous 124 mile, 2 hour journey to St. Ives extended itself to 170 miles in 3 hours.

Excellent weekend Tiff. :beerjug:

Neck muscles like a rhinocerous

Tiff,

Many thanks to you and your team of helpers for making such a job of organising the Treen event, the elements over which you cannot have control aside you did a fantastic job. And thank you for perservering with it when it would have been easier to sack it and put your feet up or get back to planning your next adventure.

I must admit I didn't enjoy seeing Land's End seasonal weather as close up as I did and it certainly put us Club Khyam members to the sword, how Fanum's tent was still in one piece after the angle of lean I saw it being put through on Sunday morning is amazing. Mine is now happily dried out and packed and I took the liberty of sealing those seams Khyam couldn't be bothered with, even the bike's been washed again (well I had to do something while I was waiting for the sealant to go off)

I seemed to get sidetracked looking at tent porn over at Les' Travel-Dri emporium but managed to get a go at the barbie due to the large amount of food on the go.

I've already forgotten the saga of the journey down and am just relieved that on Sunday I only had myself to worry about. Sadly due the weather in Kent being hot and sunny all weekend the missus is having none of my heroics about the sidewinds from hell and the monsoon conditions, especially as I was dry when I got back thanks to normal conditions returning East of Popham airfield.

Tiff, and anyone else who had a hand in organising this weekend, I came as a newbie as far as attending GS 'dos' are concerned. Bloody good weekend it was too. I met some very nice people, and had a laff. it was definately worth the ride back, even though it didn't stop chucking it dahn until aroundf about Wiltshire!!! I found out that me trousers are no longer very waterproof, expecialy round the nether regions  (More bloody expense, mutter mutter, if I hadn't gone, i wouldn't be 'having to get new trousers, moan moan, etc) :P

Seriosly, I greatly enjoyed it, great ride out (thnks to Gazza and Judge for the honours. Judge, next time, make sure you know who is listening in!!:D :D

Thanks to you all, see ya next time

phil

Thanks Tiff and all those involved.
I had a great weekend despite a, er little hiccup on the ride out and 400 freezing soaked miles back home.
