I needed a hotel for an overnight stop, midway between Le Mans and Cochem. I chose Laon, plucking the Hotel du Tramway at random.

It was definitely good enough for an overnight stop or a couple of days. The lady on the reception was very helpful, allowing me to park my car inside their gated area. Within the same gated area, the hotel has a garage, which I guess would suit motorbikes. I couldn’t use it, only as the slope down creates the wrong angle for my low fronted car to manage. I had arranged all this with the hotel before I arrived.

The rooms are modern, tidy, clean and comfortable.

There is no restaurant in the hotel and, as it was Monday, lots of the local enterprises were closed. But two pretty good bars were open and, via Google, I found a restaurant, too. All within easy walking distance.

Might be worth a coat of looking at that one Richard. We usually stop over at Laon but so far have used the Kyriad, which is more of a Motel than a Hotel but does have a bar and restaurant attached.

Would the parking here accommodate a car with bike trailer attached ?

Was looking good, until the Oysters, give me escargot every time.

Enjoy the trip
