I know that I could head to notebookreview but thought I'd check with the collective technical wisdom here first
I've finally decied that I need to replace my 17" Dell laptop. What I will miss about it is the reliability (odd for a Dell) and the rare as feck back then 1080p screen.
What I'm after:
I've been considering an ASUS zenbook, or a lenovo (I've had a few IBM Thinkpads in the past). None of the Dells, or HP's really float my boat at the moment.
So what you got ?
cheers

What I'm after:
- something a lot lighter and with a smaller footprint
- minimum i5 processor
- discrete graphics
- max 14" screen (with higher than 1366 x 768 resolution)
- Windows, or Mac doesn't really matter which these days
- min 8Gb Ram, ideally with 16Gb (I run quite a few VM's)
- touchscreen ? Not sure I'd use it, but...
- good build quality and reliable.
