Ok then, there have been quite a few posts regarding auxillary tanks for the x challenge, has anyone been able to purchase one? if so from where and is it any good! , any thoughts on the touratech tank? seems quite a bit of work to fit?

Anyone got a secondhand touratech tank or auxillary tank for sale?

I think Timpo has had a TT one delivered to a mate in Belgium :thumb2

I have a 5litre tank. I am making brackets and mounts at the moment. It should fit at the front, right side of the engine beneath the rad covers. Odd place, I know but it means it doesn't interfere with luggage and carries the weight as low as possible. It should also be cheap.

Probably cheaper to buy a KTM640ADV than a TT tank:augie

Ahhh, but then you would need these:-

Ah yes well there is that!:D
I wasn't knocking the XC, Colebatch proved that with a few mods it can be one of the best true Adventure bikes out there:clap

any piccies of the set up, it does sound a tad strange but keep us posted, any ideas when they would be available?

no pics, sorry. It worked in the test so I'm making up the brackets now... except flu kicked in and won't kick back out. 3 weeks and counting.
Odd? Not as odd as BMW building a near perfect little bike and then only giving it a 9.5litre capacity. It's safe from grounding and from heat. It does shift some weight to the side but so does the massive exhaust can and that does it high up. Also, the lower tank will empty first and this is purely aimed at a short use touring add-on. The point of fitting it here is it will not foul any accessory or threaten the integrity of the subframe, a known weak point. If I mounted it to the side like the X-tank then you couldn't use any existing pannier system. Mounted here it won't foul against anything (depending on dump guard.)
Give me 2 weeks and i should have the prototype working and will stick up pictures.
