Of course!!

This is so clever....

you remove something that works and replace it with something that doesn't, without some great big pipe shoved in it to regain the functionality you had in the first place.

genius.

While we're on the subject, I picked up my 1150 in November already fitted with the remus can. I agree with the lovely sound it produces, but it normally scares the S#*t out of the wife when the thing backfires on overrun! Can I take this to be the norm with the remus or is there anything I can do to stop it???

I have bought a Laser (the one on ebay last week) paid a bit more than i wanted to really but I should be able to get it fitted today. I will post pics and what I think of it went I have had a run on it!:)

Check the exhaust for air leaks and make sure you are shutting the throttle completely on the overrun, even a little throttle can cause the bangs :thumb2

Thanks Stewart, I'll check for the air leaks and also check my right hand position.

Found a great piece of info in here on a poll about CAT CODE PLUGS (try it in a search!) Used the modification suggested by Steptoe and like many others say on that thread, "its like riding a different bike!":clap

I had a Laser can on my 1100GS which sounded great and ran perfectly once I had removed the cat code plug (which made a change from the stuttering and surging...). In fact the exhaust is still in my loft (in excellent condition), so if anyone has £70 and can collect from Milton Keynes, it's theirs!

If you could pop that in a jiffy bag I would take it, but MK is a long way from me.

I put a Remus on my 1100 GS, Every time i ride it i have a huge grin fixed on my face, My missus thinks i´m mad for spending money on something like that, My bike is down at the moment due to clutch problems so yesterday i put my Remus on her R850R, It went from sewing machine to a monster in 5 minutes ! I just hope she will give it back when my bike is repaired.
Money well invested in my opinion.:)

Continuing the thread I now have my Laser can fitted, easy once I had taken a grinder to the old clamp bolt which was a blob of rust, I removed the beige cat code plug, removed fuse number five for a bit and off we go, the sound is loads louder than stock and I like it :D at low rpms it barks nicely and as the motor revs out its great too, and now my question. What other fuelling mods have you lot done in addition to fitting the pipe? Chips ? CCP pulled?
Stewart

I fitted a full Remus to my 1100. Its a bit louder but nothing to give concern. The bike feels zippier but whether its actually any different I've no idea. It looks better as the thing is less bulky. Still quite heavy though.

I did nothing to the fueling. I thought the cat code plug only worked on 1150's?
