reports have dried up, there's no chance he's fallen into a Stein and got lost.....:(

I nearly fell into my Stein of Radler (shandy) at the Johanneskruez Hotel this afternoon (a well known biker meet in these parts). Me and Christine baith got a plate of ham omelette with bread: 42 Euros! :( Nae wunner the place disnae gie you a menu wi' prices. We spoke to a couple of Deutsche bikers ootside and they were complainin' aboot the prices really shootin' up over the past few years a this particular haunt. I'll no be back there. It isnae even Germans that own and run the place now. It's like Skye wi' guid weather...

Mind you the run up from Bad Bergzabern and then hame via the Elmstein Tal made it worth it. Was a wee bit hot when you stopped the bike though.

Just waitin on Frau Ronno pittin' her face on and we're off for a few biers and Jägermeisters then I'll hae a dram wi' my Dad later.

Prost! :beerjug:

I think I'll have to give Europe a miss until normal pricing resumes. Was speaking to friends that have just returned from Ibetha and they were talking about a great hike in prices since last year.

I hope you had a good evening out with your Dad :thumb

We were really stung there but TBH I still reckon Europe is much cheaper for your holiday "essentials": accomodation, beer, grub and of course Jägermeister :D Petrol is a few cents dearer than in UK but nothing outrageous.

My cousin Uwe has a cafe bar in Bad Krozingen in the Süd Schwarzwald and my auntie was doon helpin him oot last week. Uwe was away to the Doc but my auntie told me that a Scottish couple (I think Mr and Mrs Grizzly) called in for a coffee. The waitress waited until Uwe returned before mentioning this to anyone. She nearly got sacked for no' tellin' my Auntie or Uwe's missus who were baith workin' in the kitchen :blast

Apologies to George and Joyce fae Uwe and my Tante Alice :beerjug:

Just back from all over the place and Germany was the cheapest for beer. Still twice the price of Wetherspoons though...

Worst was Dunkirk. 6 Euros for a half litre of Fosters!!! And Fosters was the only beer on draught - bottles were similarly priced. And that was in an ordinary pub place.

Average in France/Italy/Switzerland/Holland was 4 Euros plus for a beer. Germany about 3 Euros.

EVERY f'in thing was up hugely on last year. Except accommodation, now you can bargain with hotel receptionists. They must be feeling the pinch.

Yes, It Was Us Ronno!

We popped in for a coffee (plus cake of course:bounce1) and when I was paying the waitress I asked for Uwe and explained who we were etc, etc ( and also that we knew your Mum and Dad etc.)
She explained that Uve wasn't there at the moment and also mentioned that the woman who had been at the counter a couple of minutes ago was his partner/wife - "do you know her" she asked, so I said no - I'd already explained I didn't actually know Uve - and that was that.
The fact my German is pretty crap doesn't help in these circumstances. Anyway, no worries - we were passing anyway.
Here's a pic of the cafe - wi ma new bike outside:eek:

Cheers................Grizzly:beer:

Thats why I'm heading through Germany this year into Poland and Slovakia where pricing will hopefully be a bit better:augie I must admit though you can't beat Germany for great roads and pubs:)

Money Not Going far Now!!

We found prices in general in Netherland, Luxembourg, Germany, France & Switzerland all very expensive compared to previous years.
You expect a change due to the Pound/Euro rate - but internal pricing in these countries has also shot up.
Luxembourg & Switzerland still have cheaper fuel in their favour - but the Netherlands is now about 1.40+ Euro's per litre:eek: for petrol - so if your arriving via Ijmuiden then have your tank reasonably full.
Not sure how Eastern Europe will be now - we were in Czeck Rep. & Slovakia last year & it was still good value - as long as your not trying to stay/eat/drink in the tourist spots where the price benefits all but disappear?

Cheers.......................Grizzly:beer:
