We found prices in general in Netherland, Luxembourg, Germany, France & Switzerland all very expensive compared to previous years.
You expect a change due to the Pound/Euro rate - but internal pricing in these countries has also shot up.
Luxembourg & Switzerland still have cheaper fuel in their favour - but the Netherlands is now about 1.40+ Euro's per litre:eek: for petrol - so if your arriving via Ijmuiden then have your tank reasonably full.
Not sure how Eastern Europe will be now - we were in Czeck Rep. & Slovakia last year & it was still good value - as long as your not trying to stay/eat/drink in the tourist spots where the price benefits all but disappear?

I was suprised at the price of simple things like a cup of coffee in some places in both France and Germany. I paid up to 4.5 Euros! I've revised my opinion on fuel prices from my earlier post. The petrol in Germany and especially Holland were both eye watering at times. I totally agree about many price hikes on certain things but we were lucky and got great BnB digs at a cracking place in an alpine village for 25 Euros. Eating and drinking in pubs was still cheaper than here, we found anyway but I agree that it's more expensive than previous years.

It still seems odd filling your tank in the UK considering how cheap Euro fuel used to be by comparison to here but Grizzly is spot on with his advice.

The £/E exchange rate is still a bummer though.
