LC Digital Display (clocks) Anti Theft Brace

I would love to know how many have actually been knicked before paranoia really kicks in.

Which appears in the Hexhead section, so I presume refers to the hexhead model (the one just prior to the liquid cooled model) skimming through the thread very quickly I see no reference to the Liquid Cooled model :nenau I do recall seeing the thread about stolen clocks from a hexhead but it's the only report of it's type I've seen, having owned a hexhead and having removed the clocks myself to facilitate fitting H.I.D.'s (not strictly necessary I know ) I know how easy they are to remove (I also know that having owned 2 hexheads I've never had a set of clocks stolen but I digress) I will take a look at the clocks on the LC tomorrow and see if these appear as easy to remove as the previous model.
A good effort Mark I hope your efforts and hard work wasn't in vain.

p.s. Sarge no paranoia here;)

Fella thanks for the concern - it seems that its just not restricted to the twin cams as this quote suggests (taken from the thread link)

"Yes. His bike was a 1200WC !!"

Mark
Have you or are you intending to make something similar for the hex heads from 07?

They look really nice.

I'll just have to wait until you can do the TC version!

Unless I`m confused (and that happens oh so easily nowadays :bounce1) it should fit the TC

Can you tell me what is different about the TC over the base and TE regarding this area please?

TC = TWIN CAM the last of the air cooled 1200's often referred to as HEXHEADs due to the hexagonal shape of the rocker cover ( I think)
Not to be confused with TE an abbreviation of TOURING EDITION one of 3 trim levels offered in the WATER COOLED series of GS and GS Adventure, those models are Basic, XE and TE.

Hope that helps.....

Ah, fanks.

Hi Mark, brace arrived on Friday thanks.
Took me 20 minutes to fit of which 10 minutes was me repeatedly picking up the locking nut for the left hand side off the floor (coz I is clumsy!). Frown a bit, swear repeatedly and put tongue out of corner of mouth and it all went together no problems!
Went off to the Adventure Bike Shop yesterday and it didn't fall off and no-one nicked my clocks so I guess you could say it has been 100% effective so far ;):D

Oh and it looks good too!

Thanks for the kind words mate - I guess that because its such a pain to fit/unfit it may mean we get to keep our clocks a little longer eh?

Arrived safe and sound, fitted - photos to follow :). By the way Mark, say hi to Shelly for me :)
