LC owners

There was one on here recently (think it might of been a YPVS model though) did it sell in the end?
I was seriously thinking about one recently too. You can't beat a whiff of 2stroke in the morning :thumb2 :D

any idea who was selling it??

i really do want a pre 1983 350LC...last of the proper ones but i would consider the "right" F2 YPVS but not the F1's (i dont like the tail piece styling on the F1's)

Folklore of the time (early '80s) suggested that there were more LC's nicked than actually imported.

My 350LC was nicked from outside my flat (I remember my wife looking up from the book she was reading and saying "That sounds like your bike going down the road". "Nah, it well locked up" was my response.:blast:blast) The local police found it 24 hours later, less barrels, pistons, zorsts and carbs.

...Nasty -

Just loved that clip....& the sound of the 2 stroke being reved up.....tok me right back to my youth...FECH:thedummy:thedummy

Earnshaws bike dealer HUDDERSFIELD have two in there showroom they built them from New old stock big mates of jamie whitham he has one too

Err it wasn't me honest :augie

I didn't actualy have an RD350lc. Though it was one of those bikes we all hankered after. It was the early 350lc that did it for me too, though I did like the look of the YPVS with the bikini fairing.

I did have YPVS pistons and read blocks in my RD400 though :D and then turned the barrels round so the carbs stuck out the front '38mm mikunis I think' (less likelyhood of shuving a piston up the inlet port), with straight high level hand made expansion pipes where the air box would have been.
Skimmed heads with TZR compression, and gearing for 150mph+

Hi, I bought the one that was on this site recently, have you looked on the RD forum, a couple of nice ones on there at the moment, I've got lots of other 2 strokes as well, and will have an NSR at some point in the future, assume you are looking for an original bike with matching numbers????

There were so many LC's stolen for proddie racing, that a mate of mine had the following sticker on his race bike,

When asked why, he simply said they were his main sponsor, they supply him the bikes :blast I think he was joking but was never sure.

i have been looking for a few months but no real rush....when the "right" one pops up i will snap it up :)

yep i want one with matching numbers (4LO) and either very good original or fully restored with "tastfull" mods...some real overdone dogs out there

i would consider a RD350N2 but my heart really wants a 4LO (proper LC)

thanks for the info

I used to crash my 250LC about three times a week for two years :o

Always wanted an early YPVS350 with the handlebar fairing and bellypan. Sadly I didn't have £1695 kicking around when a mint one came up at Powersports Bikes in Bradford five years ago - bet it'd b worth double that now :(

I did have a mint TDR250 about ten years ago as I'd always wanted one when they first came out and it was great fun, but just too slow at the top end and too small for two-up use. It was quickly swapped in for a new Thundercat 600.

My 250LC was my first big 'legal' bike. I bought it in 1987, I was the second owner, and get this - the first owner bought it NEW in 1986.....it was on a C plate. It had been an unsold bike.

It was mint when I bought it with less than 2,000 miles on the clock - chopped it in about a year later (my first new bike.....XBR500), still mint with about 12,000 miles.

I had some good trips on that bike, I made my own tank bag........of course all the stuff we take for granted now just wasn't available then......or at best very limited in choice.

Easy to start, cheap tires, easy to maintain, not toooo thirsty, fast enough - but the power band was just fab. I always figured it rode like a 125 until you got past the 'transition' at, if I remember about 6,000rpm? where it stuttered for about 500 rpm before clearing it's throat and shooting off.

Cheap, simple, bloody good fun motorcycling!

Over the years if ever I saw one I had to stop and stare - fabulous machines - of course I really wanted the 350. But the same day I passed my test the only bike in the shop (St. Neots Motorcycles - is Eric still there?) that I could afford to insure was the LC...............ahhhhhhh, memory lane:rob

I enjoy doing the strimming as the smell of two stroke gets the memories coming back!
