lc remap

Although not an LC, there was a previous thread where a few people claimed Geoff's remap dyno figures were pure lies. I suggested to the nay sayers that I was willing to get my 2005 1200GS dyno'd before and after visiting Geoff's, at an independant dyno centre. The only condition was that THEY had to pay for my 2 dyno runs (approx £35 each run) as I couldn't afford to, nor did I really want to get it dyno'd elsewhere.

Nobody took me up on the chance to debunk Geoff's skills.

I have a 650 Versys that had a Power a Commander fitted (£330) and a set up on a Dynojet Dyno (£120). Took the lad over an hour and he was still guessing at the end due to my having took off the secondary butterflies. On the run home I was trying to work out how much better it was.

I then bought a GS LC in Mar 13. 6 months later had that remapped by Geoff. I felt the difference within 50 meters of leaving his place. Fuelling was instantly smoother, less vibration at tick over and more power throughout. Can just about ride it in top gear everywhere. Also £100 cheaper than a PC and Dyno setup. I was so impressed I sold the PC and had Geoff remap the Versys. Took him less than 30 mins. Again it was instantly better with more power and loads better fuelling.

I am sick of people knocking him who have never had a bike done by Geoff but spout all sorts of theories about what is and isn't possible. There hasn't been one person who has had a remap there, who has any complaints. Several people have been back more than once, me included.

If it was no good and just pride stopping them admitting it, they would hardly go back and do it again. I have had several mates go to Geoff since I went, some with non GS bikes, and all have been over the moon with how much their bikes fuelling has improved. All of them said they would be back and at least two have taken their other bikes there.

I think anyones knocking the end result , just the hp gains that are claimed. Extra 20 bhp at the rear wheel on the LC?, does seem a bit dubious based on improvements ive seen with a power commander and dyno run on bikes ive had....my gsxr1000 went up about 15bhp from 160bhp to 175bhp at the rear wheel with a power commander, race exhaust and k&n, and dyno tune at cnc chesterfield. So about 10 percent. Maybe thats down to an engine already in a high state of tune wheras the gs engine isnt?

I'm not saying that I don't believe the figures, but some of the claims do seem enthusiastic. Saying that, I'm now thinking of Akra headers, and a trip to see Geoff in the summer. I don't really care what the figures say, but if it irons out some of the flat spots, that's good enough for me.:thumb

That could be a very valid observation.........

Manufacturers' horsepower claims will sell Litre Superbikes...........

BMW don't sell the GS on horsepower claims................ (Ewan and Wotzisname do that)

Al :D

He claims even bigger gains on an S1000RR.
