LC Seat comfort ?? anyone got any suggestions

Try riding sports bikes for 30 years and you'll quickly realise all GSs are armchairs.

Sadly I have had enough of the uncomfortable GS seat allthough I love the bike. My poblem is that my Coccyx becomes painfull after 2 hours or about 100+ miles. I can get off and stretch legs etc. but once it has started it dosnt go away to the point that it affects my riding. I just finsished the Ride tour of the High Passes 9 days 2,200 miles. Each day was a slightly more painfull day than before. My final solution was Airhawk on front seat remove rear seat and sit with my bum off the back of the saddle in the space where the rear seat had taken. I have fiddled with Handlebar position and all seat height options and have reached the point where I think I will sell the GS.

But before I do that I was wondering whether anybody had experience of the Rallye seat? its seems to me that it actually slopes away at the rear and so means that the Coccyx are is not in as much contact with the saddle as the stadard seat.

Any other sugestions welcome, but if no solution I will go back to a sports Bike as I have no numb bum issues with the position on these.

MB5, try a touratech dri ride seat (or a Wunderlich). I also had issues with my coccyx within 30 mins on the standard seat. Touratech dri-ride and 1000 miles 24 hours - NO issues. If you come this side of town you can borrow mine to try ... but see that you are way, away, in Weybridge.

I have the extra high Rallye seat, and it's very comfortable. I find that I can move back on it if I need to stretch out. I also suffer from back problems (every day), and always had GSA seats, but this seat for me, is perfect.

See if Vines or Bahnstormer have one you can try; I'm sure that Maidenhead will look after you, but if not, I'm in Camberley, so you could borrow mine for an hour or two if you like.

You are a bit far away from me to try my Rallye seat, but I would suggest you see if you could borrow one first
I have recently come back from the Stella Alpina to Lancashire on mine in one go no problem, and have even done LEJOG there and back in 40 hours on mine
It seems to help that you can move about on them quite easily, I also find my pivot pegs also help when I am moving about on the seat
I tried a Airhawk once and was not in the least impressed so its all down to individual butt shapes and pain thresholds
Hope this helps

+1 on the setup - non-standard seats (TT in my case) + Pivot pegs :thumb2 . Airhawks do not work for me.

Thanks for the advice, Vines have kindly agreed to lend me a Rallye Seat so I can give it a try. I did change my handlebar postion to the lower (towards the rider position) I think this making it worse. Do others find this affects their comfort?

on the GSA standard seat I can get 6 or so hrs of riding before i get any bum issues, i keep an airhark rolled up in the touratech toolbox but rarely use it. i find i tend to lend it to other riders who are in serious pain by then ! the key with the airhawk is not much air, just enough to get you off the main seat.
i also get a stabbing pain between shoulders (mainly left shoulder) but found that moving my head up down and side to side every 15 mins or so and really stretching the neck muscles really helps. also the more days in the saddle the more match fit I would get so after a few days i`m either more relaxed or stronger in that area. a light non peaked helmet really helps too. so does max strength ibuprofen !
