After following the thread started by Alanace1967 i was thinking about our crossing in December 08 on our way to Spain.
Galway-Rosslare-Roscoff-Millau-Torrevieja-Marbella-Cartegenna-Porta Banus-Madrid-Calais and through the UK to Holyhead, bike serviced in Bray and back to Galway.
This was a very perilous journey, no problem with the riding or the cold just the fear of frozen road surfaces or using lightly travelled roads. My speedo was the temp gauge +1 meant open the taps and go.
The bike ate up the trip, riding our “magic carpet” K1200GT. The day before the Youtube clip we were firmly stuck snow bound in a s--- hole French town.
Still grateful to a good member of the forum (Shenzi) who called me regularly checking if we were OK and giving advise and updates.
Once past the snow the spin to Torrevieja was legendary fuel coffee and speed no stops. The GT has a bit of Hayabusa buried in its DNA.
The clip is a bit long but watch to the end the visibility was really that bad 600km at 30mph with the hazards on.
