Leaking brake caliper

My 2004 1150RT has a leaking front brake calliper. I have replaced the seals and pistons but it’s still leaking. I’m wondering if it’s coming from your union between the two parts or still getting past the seals. I’m looking at sending them off for overhaul but would like to replace the seals again but, I can only find the full kits with new pistons when in only want one set of seals. Is it possible to purchase seals for one calliper?

A full overhaul and guarantee is not a great deal more than having to buy a complete kit that will be 70% waste. I’ll go for the overhaul.

It's fairly unusual for the centre-seals to leak (although I've had them be air-porous before on Tokicos).

Are the calipers Tokico? (for a 2004 RT I'm not sure - but my 2004 Rocksters were all Tokico originally). In my experience the only way to get them working well is a full strip down and replace everything. You can buy the centre-seal from a decent Kawasaki dealer (I always used Cradley Kawasaki), but BMW won't sell you one because they don't believe the caliper should be split.

But, the best way to get decent brakes is to fit Brembos instead of Tokicos.

I had the same problem with my 2003 GS
I bought the full kit from Motorworks then found that one caliper wouldn't seal. I rang Motorworks thinking that I might have damaged a seal while fitting it. As a goodwill gesture they split a set and sold me just what I needed.
On recommendation from someone on this forum , I ended up taking both calipers to Powerhouse at Chesterfield to get the job done properly.
They did a brilliant job and it was worth paying the extra for peace of mind.

A little sanding with very fine grit wet and dry on the faces before sandwiching back together often does the trick.
