roundabouts!
..and NO it wsn't that I'd wet myself either!!

Had 'em about 7 months now and performed well. Have had 2 washes and reproofs with NUKWAX Tech Wash and Proofing Spray but..

noticed wet feel around the seat of the pants this morning (where leather insert is stitched into textile fabric).

Anyway by the time I'd got to work this had become a significant trickle of water making its way down my inside leg.

Results arrived at work thinking (well Gortex can feel damp when next to skin maybe I'm imagining it)

But alas no...me authentic M&S boxers were soaked and I've been forced to go commando for the rest of the day.

Anyone else experienced this with Their TRG's. Perhaps I should do the warranty claim at HG (have heard that there good for that). Might even upgrade to the MAster IV's as the jacket is superb.

Thoughts appreciated

Take 'em back mate, HG are excellent to deal with for warranty claims. :beerjug:

I agree, they changed my jacket which was 11months old even though I couldn't find a receipt.

D'oh

only went and phoned the Bristol branch of HG to ask what the probelm might be. When I explained that I'd just removed the thermal liners..the gent at the other end of the line kindly explained that the Gortex membrane is actually the outer shell of the thermal liners.......what a plank!

To be fair he was very understanding and said that HG clothing had a 2 year warranty (provided the goods hadn't been through a mincer (that's different to a mincer having been through them incidentally ;) ) and an exchange would be no problem.

Top marks to HG again

Looks like the liners are going back in again then until it dries up a tad.

Not a great bit of design though is it?
get caught in the rain in warm weather and get soaked... far better something like the HG Master IV where the proofing is in the outer jacket not the thermal liner.

how silly must you feel:rolleyes:

but fair play, you come on here and owned up....i don't think i would have:)

Apart from the fact they have become some sort of uniform for the dual sport clan. I've nnever bought Tuareg because of the Goretex being in the thermal lining. I use YOKO, which is ACE. The Wirral, down to the Elephantentreffen, then up to the Krystall, finishing at the Dragon. 3,200 odd miles no problemo. i have had one jacket get damp in the arms, it was replaced without quibble.

Oh yes:D

I admit to wearing the HG T uniform but don't trust the trousers to be waterproof so wear army gortex overtrousers, they're excellent. Dont slip on the seat either.
