Leaking rear drive with picture.

Thought this may interest those who may not have seen the dreaded leak for real. This greeted me one morning in the garage, but fair play to Bristol BMW; sorted under warranty in no time.

Looks like it was just the seal so shouldn't have been a biggy.

Glad they took care of it tho :thumb2

Just a thought,
If oil can get out, will water get in?

Not strictly true chap - I know I tend to abuse my HP2, but at my last service they changed the FD oil because it was dirty.

So I do wonder what they mean when they say it's supposed to be sealed for life :augie

Did it have water in though? The FD oil goes off very quickly and tends to go very black and smelly pretty quickly.

I didn't see it - they just told me that it was dirty and asked the question - Do you take it off-road much? :augie

In hindsight, I don't even know why they were checking it :nenau
