Leaking Wheel

I have just had my front wheel rim replaced under warranty by BMW because it was slowly leaking air. The valve had been replaced first a few weeks ago and then the wheel yesterday. Is this a common occurrence? The bike is a 1200 GSA anniversary

Not it is not for what I know.....but it may happen to any of us.

Pikey dave had a rear wheel that had a badly welded rim join on the rear that leaked air.

i think it was actually a 5mm long crack that appeared in the centre of the rim. i didn't know it was on a weld.

anyway, it did leak air slowly like the OP's rim.

Didn't he araldite the crack to stop the leak

yes, just a blob on the outside of the rim, so no need to remove the tyre, and it worked fine for 1000's of miles.
