Noticed on the weekend some oil on the top of the left fork, the forks feel OK, but was wondering if this is something I should get checked quickly or not?
Also can any recoemmend a good place near to London, now Prestige has gone, and there's only Park $$ Lane left :(

Cheers

The best service near London is of course that man Steptoe of this parish. I, and many others who have used him, will happily recommend him for all of your GS servicing needs.

If getting to the deep south west of London to visit Steptoe is difficult (although it isn't far past the Battersea service place in reality) and you spend time in the centre, then consider Pat Keenan at Mobitec as a good second choice.

whilst no expert, I would guess there is no great hurry.
I did one side of mine a few weeks ago, as it had been clearly weeping for a couple of weeks. rather than drain all the oil I 'topped' it up with approximately half a lid of a WD40 aerosols worth.

Clearly this was too much as it then weeped far worse for the next few days. Its fine now ;)
So I'd guess that a little weeping for 2 weeks looses about 1/4 a lid of a WD40 can. Should be months before you run out.

Its an easy DIY job, but allow time for taking it apart a second time, when you realise that you haven't put the retaining clip back in.
