My new 1200GSA Leans to the left when it's on its main stand. The left bar is 25mm closer to the ground that the right one when the front wheel is pointing staright forward. Is it meant to be like this or have I got a bent stand or bracket?

Please feel free to get your tape measures out!

Thanks

You garage floor ain't flat

Checked it with a measure tape. Difference is about 5mm (leaning to the left). But before this was 15mm (and the bike was taken out for a spin). The floor in my garage has slight variances, plus there surely will be a bit of difference from the bike itself.
I would move the bike around a bit and check again, if I were you.

Cheers
:D

Thanks but....

...I was expecting some useful responses and some others. Now that I've had the others, can I have the usefull ones?

The floor is not perfectly flat so I have shuffled the bike around a few times only to find a similar result. Maybe I'll take a hacksaw to the right leg of the stand!

P.S. I checked my eyes and they seem to be the same distance from the ground.

The floor is not perfectly flat but I had already considered that and shuffled the bike around a few times only to find a similar result.

Tried measuring the difference after turning the bike through 180 degrees? It'll take out the floors not flat argument ;)

No leaks

I can confirm that the battery does not leak in this position and in fact the bike is very stable, more so than when on the stand.

Problem solved, I wouldn't have worked this out for weeks without you.
Thanks:beerjug:

WB

Somehow I just know that WB is going to be a real little treasure on 'ere:D

I'd check that the mainstand looks OK and that the bars aren't bent. After that, does it really matter?

Could it be the bars themselves are bent or uneven (i.e. not central)?

When in the sidestand, does the centre stand operate smoothly? Maybe the pivot is crooked?

Checked Everything

Thanks for the suggestions: I've had a good look around at the stand itself and checked the bars. Nothing seems to be out. I'm going to leave it and shed some daylight on the situation tomorrow. I'll let you know if I find something.
