My Vernatechs mean I had to install small indicators on the rear..becasue of how the boxes are mounted, anyone at an angle of more than about 45 degrees from my rear end can't see my indicator, which bothers me.

Plus the indicators aren't that good, and are close together.

I've been looking at fitting some repeaters to the back outside edgs of the panniers, and I've found these thingies from Kisan.....

The side view mirrors are the widest points on your motorcycle. vectraLIGHTS are mirror mounted to make you look larger than life. VectraLight has a 2-WAY flash. There are 5 super bright RED LEDs facing the rear and 5 YELLOW LED facing the front.

VectraLight will serve as an additional turn signals, brake lights, and running lights.

A unique feature of vectraLight is its sequential flash. When the turn signals are activated vectraLight will flash sequentially. Best of all installation can be a Plug & Play operation.

vectraLight is designed to mount on the mirrors of most bikes. The unit attaches to the mirrors with an extremely durable two sided tape. o vectraLight activates the LEDs in sequence from the inner most LED to the outer.
• vectraLight has a half intensity running light and it has an optional brake input. With the brake input enabled the LEDs on the back unit become extra brake lights.

• vectraLight uses a microprocessor to time the sequencing of the super bright LEDs, The LEDs are specked as AlGaIdP LEDs. The yellow LEDs have an output of 1000 micro Candelas, and the red LEDs have an output of 2000 micro Candelas.

Sounds perfect......but I'd like to know if anyone's got any and if, when the brake input is selected, do the rear facing red led's ONLY behave as brake lights or do they still flash as indicators until the brakes are applied???

(and yes, I'm perfectly aware that flashing red lights as indicators are illegal.......it must be a wiring fault occifer, I'm sure that wasn't hapening before...I'll diconect them right now occifer)

The plan is to mount these on the vertical edges of the panniers (that don't touch the ground when I drop it ;) ) and put some multi pin connectors in so that I can demount the boxes easily.

Another question is do these things upset the ABS system with the voltage drop???

I know Nippy does them and I'll call Norman soon, but if anyone's tried these, it'd be usefull to know about.

Cheers

General thoughts ...

If you can open them up, it would be easy enough to replace the red LEDs with yellow ones, if you wanted to.

As far as ABS goes, LEDs won't draw much current so are unlikely to upset the ABS, BUT I confess I don't really know how sensitive it is. I know that people have had ABS problems when using Givi boxes with the built in extra brake light, but these use standard bulbs so will draw a bit more current.

Given the cost of a new ABS controller I'd err on the safe side.
