Hi!

I recently had my GS serviced at the BMW dealership and was told i should replace my Left Hand Accelerator cable at a cost of £100.
I was told it wasn't 100% necessary but it may run a little "lumpy" if i didn't. I didn't!
Does anyone know what this cable is or what it does? is it best to just leave it?

you must have been talking to a car mecanic,

the throttle cable goes into a splitter box underneat the back of tank, two link cables come from it .
it must be this is what he is talking about.

Over here in the States, those are called "Johnson Rods". :rob

It refers to a non-existent part that is replaced for an exorbitant fee. :augie

Seriously though, he probably means the cable that goes from the splitter box to the left-side throttle body. :)
