It's the one with 'trip' and 'abs' buttons.

Anyone got one they're not using :) or know where I can get one :nenau

Tried Motorworks but they don't have a decent one available.

New is an eye watering £190  feck that!

Being nosy just wondered what's gone wrong with yours.

If you can solder you can sort them without buying the whole setup. They are little button switches inside the switch housing and the rubber seals give up.. I did both sides on my Rt. I posted a thread a few years ago on rtrider.

I bought the switches from the states, though I heard that motorworks or motobins are now selling them.

Inside they are the same buy the £50 eBay one then retrofit the parts needed to repair yours, saving £££s on new that is provided you can solder ?

That's exactly what I was thinking, should be easy enough to swap the ones you need.

if you end up with a spare switch, I am looking for one to replace the indicator on LHS, happy to solder so just looking for the microswitch

Strange, same switchgear on mine and same year too - coincidence…..?

Found the thread I did on this (on BMrider - copied below). Checked the digikey link - still working so you can get the switch from there still.

It is a small push button switch that is at fault, but BMW don't sell as an individual item. Quoted £220 for a new left hand switchgear - at least zorro wore a mask!

There was a thread on this forum and also ukgser (http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthr...=184662&page=3) that were a great help. I ordered up some switches from digi-key @ approx £3 each. Details at http://www.digikey.co.uk/product-se...earch_go&lang=en&site=uk&keywords=401-1159-ND

I've just put one in and it works great.

Things to note:
1 - there are 2 versions of the switch in digi-key, one being 1.5N pressure and the other 2.5N pressure. I have used the one coming out of the 1.5N bag, but suspect it was in fact the 2.5N one but both should work.

2 - you'll need to remove the black inner from the old switch and keep the white collar (easy to prise off) to slide the new switch into.

3 - once soldered, fill with some sort of sealant to prevent shorting, and presto, sorted

I'm beginning to find it's the simple things that make me happy!

Best of luck Gareth

All sorted - as bikemad said they are the same inside.

I bought one listed as having no ABS/Trip/hazard buttons - but when opened up it was fully fitted with the required switches thus:

.
you can see the three circle marks on the cover where the cutouts normally are. Underneath - all switches in place.

Fitted with my original cover having the three cutouts and all sorted.

Only I have now discovered it wasn't the horn switch failing - it was the horn :blast
